Considered one of the nation's preeminent leaders in the field of diagnostics, Dr. Laser joins Ascent Diagnostics Group most recently from Everly Health, where he was the Chief Laboratory Officer and led the effort to build the largest diagnostic lab in the United States.

Recently appointed by United States Secretary of Health and Human Services as Committee Chair of the CLIA.

Previously, Dr Laser was with Northwell Health, a three-hospital tertiary medical center where he oversaw point-of-care testing for over 350 clinical practices and over 20 hospitals while running a full-service reference laboratory providing services for over 20 hospitals, hundreds of medical practices and for a number of strategic relationships. An expert in molecular genetic pathology, Dr. Laser holds a board role at the Association for Molecular Pathology and committee chair roles for the College of American Pathologists. Dr Laser graduated from Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.

Josh oversees all aspects of operations to offer several anatomical and clinical pathology services to his partner physicians, from bone and soft tissue biopsy to PCR assays. With a passion for applying a customer-first approach, Josh goes above and beyond to ensure the satisfaction of all customers.

Josh spearheads all operations, including leading a team of up to 90 employees to drive business performance, high-quality service, and success across his organization. Josh is integral in fostering a success-oriented environment while helping his clients achieve and surpass profitability, cash flow, and business goals and objectives. Actively identified areas of improvement by evaluating the effectiveness of all internal and external processes and developing and implementing innovative growth strategies.

Slater was co-founder of US Laser Worx, which brought it’s FDA approved enlarged prostate laser to market. He closed the two of the largest urology groups in the United States, bringing his laser technology to dozens of surgery centers owned by physicians. Slater was an original founder of Advanced Diagnostic Laboratory (ADL Health) a CLIA-certified diagnostic laboratory covers the fields of clinical, forensic, and microbiological tests. Slater helped build a customer support/shipping facility that shipped over 200k home collect diagnostic tests, globally, for dozens of fortune 100 & 500 companies and government agencies. For example, ADL Health is a pre-travel testing partner for Air Canada and United Airlines. His expertise and efforts that helped build his diagnostic lab, also helped facilitate its sale, for up to 70 million dollars to a publicly traded company in September 2021.
